AP PGECET 2016: Check out exam date

The exam date for the Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET) has been announced by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada, on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The exam is scheduled to be held on May 26.

The PGECET is held for admissions to postgraduate courses in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Pharmacy and Planning. The examination will be held from 10 am to 12 noon in the morning session and 2 pm to 4 pm for the afternoon session, as per the time table given in the test schedule.The exam will be held in centres in the cities of Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Guntur, Tirupathi, Anantapuram.

Eligibility criteria

Educational qualification:

Interested candidates must have passed B.E./B.Tech./AMIE in the respective disciplines with a minimum of 50 per cent marks (45 per cent in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category). Those who possess a valid GATE score are exempted from the entrance exam and have to apply separately.

They must satisfy the local domicile conditions as specified in accordance with AP GO Ms No 153.

Age limit:

The minimum age of the candidates, must be at least 21 years.

Paper pattern

The duration of the test is of two hours. The paper will have 120 multiple choice objective type questions, carrying one mark for each question. The cut-off marks in the common entrance test is 25 per cent and in case of SC/ST, there is no minimum marks. The question papers will be in English only
